Our 12th Annual Summer Intensive will feature inspiring guest faculty, challenging technical classwork, Magnify Dance Ensemble repertoire, choreography, and more. Rigorous classes in an incredibly supportive environment will jumpstart and cap off your summer and have a lasting impact on you and your dancing.

Our Summer Intensive offers three separate weeks of unique experiences and is designed for aspiring pre-professional dance students. Learning from our world-class instructors, students will be immersed in classes with a comprehensive curriculum rooted in classical ballet and contemporary dance.

During the intensive, students will obtain supportive and intentional training that will enrich and complement prior dance education and fuel growth for the summer and season to follow. Dancers’ artistry will flourish through the exploration of repertoire to jump-start the coming season.

GUEST FACULTY

Lynn
Cox

Lynn Cox studied under such noted teachers as Erik Bruhn, Francoise Martinet, Alfonso Cata and Robert Barnett. She was recognized by the National Federation of Music Clubs and received the first place honor in their ballet division.

Ms. Cox went on to dance professionally with the Atlanta Ballet for several years, performing such classics as Serenade, Sleeping Beauty, Carmina Burana, Raymonda, Allegro Brilliante and The Nutcracker. She previously held the position of Ballet Mistress for two regional companies and was the Pre-Professional Division Head for the Marin Ballet. She is currently the Resident Choreographer and School Director at Marin Dance Theatre.

Ms. Cox is a vital part of MDT’s training program. She is skilled as a teacher on all levels who oversees and trains MDT’s faculty, creating an atmosphere for all the dancers that is both developmental and consistent. She has received numerous awards for her outstanding choreography.

 

Tim
Fox

Mr. Fox began his training in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Moscelyne Larkin and Roman Jasinski who founded Tulsa Ballet and went on to be a Principal Dancer with that company.  He studied at both School of American Ballet and American Ballet Theatre School in NYC under a Ford Foundation Scholarship.  

 
Tim danced with The New York City Ballet under the direction of George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins and Peter Martins.  He was also a Principal Dancer with The San Francisco Ballet under Helgi Tomasson.
 
Mr. Fox has taught at The San Francisco Ballet School, The Boston Ballet School/BB II, The Eglevsky Ballet, The Washington Ballet, School, BAE- Ballet Academy East (NYC), MMAC- Manhattan Movement and Arts Center/Manhattan Youth Ballet (NYC), MYB – Maryland Youth Ballet, and CPYB – Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (Summer Faculty).

Landon
Miner

Landon Miner is a dance artist currently based in Amsterdam, where he is training at the European School of Ballet under the direction of Jean-Yves Esquerre and Olivier Wecxsteen. He brings a strong classical foundation together with an expanding contemporary practice, with particular interest in physically driven movement, diverse styles, and improvisation.

His training at the European School of Ballet includes work with an international faculty and guest artists such as Alyson Way Wanselius, Christiane Marchant, Leanne Benjamin, Maurice Causey, Roslyn Anderson, Lorraine Blouin, Jiri Pokorny, Gil Roman, and Macarena Gonzalez. Through workshops and repertory study, he has been immersed in material by choreographers including Jiří Kylián, William Forsythe, Goyo Montero, Mats Ek, Alexander Ekman, and Marco Goecke.

Landon previously studied at the Classical Training Program at The Dallas Conservatory, where he performed in productions of Swan LakeGiselle, and The Nutcracker. He has attended intensives at Ballet BC, the European School of Ballet (Marseille), The Juilliard School, Ballet West, and MODAS Dance.

In addition to training and performing, Landon maintains a growing contemporary choreographic practice through which he is developing his choreographic voice. His choreography has been presented in numerous competitive settings, where it has received many accolades and strong recognition

Kelsey
Paschich

Kelsey Paschich is a multi-disciplinary dance artist who blends strong technical foundations with creative exploration, merging movement and digital innovation to imagine new ways of performing and making dance. With over 25 years of professional experience, she has performed internationally with companies including Moscow State Classical Ballet, DCDC2, Thodos Dance Chicago, River North Chicago Dance Company, ARCOS Dance, and Lawine Torrèn (Austria). She has danced works by celebrated choreographers such as Robert Battle, José Limón, Ann Reinking, Lar
Lubovitch, Margo Sappington, Kevin O’Day, Robert Moses, Tamir Ginz, Johan Renvall
and many others.

Kelsey holds an MFA from the University of New Mexico and a BFA (Cum Laude) from Point Park University. She is a certified Countertechnique® teacher and currently serves as Associate Professor of Innovation in Dance at Western Michigan University. As a sought-after guest artist and educator, she has taught for Ballet Preljocaj (France), Dance Kaleidoscope, South Chicago Dance Theatre, Eisenhower Dance Detroit, ARCOS Dance (Austin), and Adaptations Dance (Maui), and has led master classes and workshops throughout the United States, Asia, Europe, and South America.

As a choreographer, Kelsey enjoys pushing creative boundaries by combining dance with film, motion capture, and emerging technologies, while always keeping the human body at the center of the work. Her choreography has been presented at festivals across the U.S., Asia, Canada, and Europe. Her work has been recognized with the WMU Presidential Innovation Professorship Award, invitations to the Choreographic Coding Lab in Cologne, and selection as an international “Distant Digital Dance Maker” for Tanz mit dem Tiger in Ulm, Germany. She is also a recipient of the Creative Living for Dancers Award (Brussels), the NCCAkron Dancing Lab: Art Speaks 2.0 Residency, and the National Dizzy Feet Foundation Gene Kelly Legacy Scholarship.

Her most recent multimedia live/digital solo, Trio of Duality, premiered at the Seoul International Dance Festival in TANK, Seoul, Korea. Kelsey loves working with young dancers and is passionate about helping students build confidence, versatility, curiosity, and a strong artistic voice—both in the studio and beyond.

Kate Rackley, born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, is celebrated for her versatility as both a dancer and choreographer across a wide range of dance styles. Growing up, Kate’s early training focused heavily on technique and ballet, which laid a strong foundation for her dance career. To expand her knowledge, she furthered her education at the CLI Conservatory, a prestigious institution led by Teddy Forance. There, she had the opportunity to train with renowned instructors such as Martha Nichols, Wade Robson, Riley Watts, Nina McNeely, Tyrik Patterson, Sienna Lyons, Dana Wilson, and many other exceptional choreographers.

Kate has had the privilege of performing on numerous live stages, with recent performances including Robert Green’s “Bitter Earth,” Pauline Casino’s “Sweat,” and Al Blackstone’s “Last Dance.” In earlier years, she also performed in the closing show for Radix Dance Convention under the direction of Tessandra Chavez and Tyce Diorio. Kate’s talent has been showcased on film, including performances in Wade Robson’s “Element” concept film and Micaela Taylor’s “Lost” concept film. Additionally, she has appeared on television, performing on KPTS for several years, where she featured her studio’s Nutcracker production and participated in a private interview segment for talented teens on KAKE News.

Upon graduating from CLI Conservatory, Kate was offered a performance position with Royal Caribbean Entertainment and an internship with CLI Conservatory. During her internship, she had the chance to assist Teddy Forance and contribute behind the scenes for the program’s fourth year. This experience has allowed Kate to assist with auditions, intensives, and classes alongside notable figures such as Teddy Forance, Martha Nichols, Dakayla Wilson, and Riley Watts.

Currently, Kate is completing her internship with CLI Conservatory while staying busy teaching at various studios and mentoring students through their training. She is dedicated to continuing her own education and plans to travel across the country to teach, all while furthering her development by participating in workshops and intensives.

Tuition For summer intensive

Registration will open on March 1 and close on May 1.

Advanced:

  • 2 weeks are required for current/continuing Conservatory/Ensemble students
  • $1,000 for two-week enrollments ($500 per week)
  • $1,350 for three-week enrollments ($450 per week)
  • 1-week option, as space permits, for new dancers, $550

Advanced-Intermediate: 

  • 2 weeks are required for current/continuing Conservatory/Ensemble students
  • $900 for two-week enrollments ($450 per week)
  • $1,200 for three-week enrollments ($400 per week)
  • 1-week option, as space permits, for new dancers, $500

Intermediate: 

  • $800 for two-week enrollments ($400 per week)
  • $1050 for three-week enrollments ($350 per week)
  • 1-week option, as space permits, for new dancers, $450.

A $250 deposit will be collected at the time of registration to hold your spot (applied to total tuition).

The remainder of tuition will be split into two payments and charged on June 1st and July 1st OR can be paid in full at the time of registration.

ADMISSION

Two options for admission and level placement:

    1. An audition/placement class will be necessary for enrollment. We prefer that you audition in person on March 21 at Magnify Dance Center. Audition/placement class fee: $30. For more info please visit our Audition page.
    2. Send an electronic video of ballet work including barre, center, and pointe work (if applicable). A $30 video audition fee will be applied. Please email lindsay@magnifydancecenter.com for more information.

FAQ's

Yes! We will assist out-of-town dancers to arrange housing and transportation, and families will need to pay for accommodations independently. Some students choose to stay with family or friends at their homes or nearby hotels.

Classes take place Monday-Friday (level-dependent). A typical day includes 5+ hours of education and dance classes with supplemental evening and weekend activities. A complete schedule will be provided prior to the first day of classes.

We have 3 levels of classes,* and level placements are determined prior to the first day of classes through an audition or placement class.
