MORE INFORMATION
- Auditions will begin promptly at start times; dancers are encouraged to arrive no more than 30 minutes but no less than 10 minutes early to check-in and warm up.
- Dancers should attend the audition time of the age they are based on the date of the audition.
- $25 audition fee/pre-registration required. See above.
- Attendees ages 12 & up must bring a resumé containing dance/academic experience/accolades and a 4×6 photo in first arabesque en l’air and en pointe where appropriate.
- Girls: wear a black leotard, pink tights and ballet shoes/pointe shoes. Boys: wear black tights/pants and a white shirt with ballet shoes. For all ages 12+, bring jazz shoes/dance socks for jazz/contemporary work.
Magnify
Conservatory
The Magnify pre-professional Conservatory division was founded in 2014 and exists to further the dance training experience for highly focused and motivated young dancers. Prospective Conservatory students should demonstrate an exceptional interest in or desire to dance.
Dancers are evaluated on such physical factors as flexibility and turnout and other criteria such as musicality and performance quality. Most important is the dancer’s determination and drive for growth in technique and artistry.
Conservatory classes include ballet, pointe, pre-pointe, contemporary, jazz, Cecchetti, Technique Integration and Five Point Fit cross training (classes dependent on level placement).
Magnify Dance
Ensemble
MDE provides our Conservatory dancers with additional performance opportunities to enrich their experience. Magnify Ensemble’s 40+ year history includes a standard of excellence in the training and opportunities provided to young dancers and boasts an alumni roster of over 600 dancers!
Accepted Ensemble dancers may be cast in our two annual productions including Christmas Joy, How Love Wins and more. Our inspiring and compelling repertoire provide dancers with ample opportunity for artistic growth.
In addition to performance experience, membership in our current company of 75 dancers builds friendships and community, enriching each dancer’s experience.
Magnify Competition
Team
Through audition and invitation, Conservatory dancers have the opportunity to be considered for Magnify's Competition Team. These dancers will represent Magnify Dance Center at several local and out of state competitions, including Youth America Grand Prix and ADC/IBC.
MDC’s Competition Team provides the opportunity to become a part of a troupe-spirited ensemble created to enhance each dancer's artistry and increase performance experience.
Through increased coaching and instruction as well as the demands of the competitive experience, we see dancers’ skills, confidence and mastery shine! Mental toughness, grit and determination will be fostered.
